Vanguard beta end date: When does free open beta end on PS4 and Xbox?

Activision has announced that they have extended this weekend’s Call of Duty Vanguard open beta.

This means that gamers won’t need to count down until closing time on Monday and will instead have longer to enjoy the multiplayer action.

No reason has been shared for the change, but it will be a welcome one for those currently smashing through WW2-themed multiplayer matches.

And for those who might not have joined up yet, Activision has made it very easy to join this week’s open beta event.

No pre-order of the full game is necessary, and there are no limitations on what platform you can play on.

There are also no restrictions tied to subscriptions, so you won’t need Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus to join in on the action on consoles.

Those who have downloaded the Beta will be able to cross-launch into it via Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Warzone, or Modern Warfare from the main menu for any of those games.

Simply move your joystick or mouse to the far left “blade” of this main menu, and you will be able to launch into the Vanguard Beta. Alternatively, you can launch into the application directly without needing to go into any of the three full Call of Duty experiences.

WHEN DOES THE VANGUARD OPEN BETA END?

Activision has confirmed that the Call of Duty Vanguard open beta will now end on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Servers are scheduled to close down at 6pm BST, so it’s still worth downloading the beta and joining in.

No further extensions of the deadline are expected, so this will be the last time you can test out Vanguard before it hits shelves in November.

As the name suggests, crossplay will be active through the Beta’s second weekend, allowing you to play with friends so long as you have each other’s Activision IDs to party up across platforms.

A message from Activision adds: “Following its installation, start up the Beta application and follow the first button prompt to be taken through a quick first-time settings and agreements menu series.

“You can always visit the settings menu before, during, or after a match to readjust these basic and more complex options, such as Automatic Sprint, Deadzone sliders, Motion Blur within the world, and even Hit Marker Sound Effects (e.g. Classic, for those Call of Duty veterans who want some nostalgia).”
