In recent years, it has become a tradition for the monarch to take the train from London King’s Cross to King’s Lynn station in Norfolk for her Christmas holiday.
It is claimed that the sovereign may make a 50-minute helicopter journey from Windsor, though her traditional train journey also hasn’t been ruled out as an option for this year’s festivities.
Among those expected to be present at the royal Christmas celebrations are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children.
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are also expected to join the monarch for the festivities.
