Belgian Princess Maria Laura has become engaged to William Isvy. Princess Maria is the second child (the eldest daughter) of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz of Belgium.
Mr Isvy was born in Paris to a British mother and a French-Moroccan father.
The Belgian Royal Palace announced on Instagram on Monday, December 27: “Princess Maria Laura and Mr William Isvy have become engaged.
“The wedding will take place in the second half of 2022.
“Congratulations to the future bride and groom!”
An unofficial Instagram account about Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant, wrote: “Congratulations to the happy couple.
“I hope their life as married couple will be filled with love and happiness.”
The couple met in London in 2015.
They still live in the city.
Mr Ivy is an investment banker and son of Philippe Isvy, Chief Investment Officer at Mogador Capital.
Princess Maria is ninth in line to the Belgian throne but rarely carries out royal duties.
