Princess Charlotte faces strict 'best friend' rule at school as Kate urged to step in

Charlotte, six, attends Thomas’s Battersea along with older brother Prince George, eight. The school reportedly has a strong emphasis on kindness and even encourages pupils not to have best friends to avoid youngsters feeling excluded.

Speaking on Loose Women, broadcaster Jane Moore said: “It’s a really great little school actually for the reasons I think that it really focuses on kindness, it’s a really big thing in that school and the pastoral care is amazing.

“There’s a policy that if your child is having a party, unless every child in the class is invited you don’t give out the invites in class, which I think is quite a good thing as you don’t feel excluded.

“There are signs everywhere saying be kind, that’s the ethos of the school.

“They don’t encourage you to have best friends.”

Ms Moore added that Kate and Prince William will be urged to get involved in school life.

She said: “It’s a school that really expects parental involvement.

“The parents are very heavily involved in the school so they [Kate and William] will be as well.”

“William’s experience as a young boy, being shuttled between two parents, has left him determined to lay down solid foundations for his own brood.

“One, if not both of them, do the school drop-off or pick-up pretty much every day, and they always sit down to eat together as a family.

“He is a very doting and hands-on dad.

“The fact is, he knows what’s coming and wants them to have as normal a childhood as possible while they can.”

Prince Louis, three, is likely to follow his older brother and sister by attending Thomas’s Battersea.

He currently attends Willcocks Nursery School in London, just like Charlotte did.
