‘The irony!’ Catherine Zeta-Jones raises eyebrows as tribute to Queen sparks confusion | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Catherine Zeta-Jones took the opportunity to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. On February 6, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

The Welsh-born actress shared a celebratory photo, in view of her four million followers.

To commemorate the occasion, the mum-of-two shared a sweet dedicatory post to Her Majesty.

The actress took a selfie from her stunning home, posing in front of a mirror to showcase the message for the Queen it had printed on the back.

Catherine, 52, stunned in the candid snap as she sported an army print jacket with “God Save The Queen” written in bold letters.

The jacket also featured an American flag, which was accessorised on the shoulder of the jacket.

She penned: “Thank you Queen Elizabeth. My favorite jacket for my favorite Queen. 70 years,” followed by a heart emoji.

The post sparked some confusion among her followers, who addressed the “irony”.

Robert Scotch commented: “Nice jacket but, wrong flag [GB].”

Lynnie Pooz shared: “It has an American flag on it!”

Amanda Vaughn said: “Beautiful,” while Lauzirbes added: “Our favourite Queen.”

Catherine, who is originally from Wales, lived in Bermuda until 2009 with her husband Michael Douglas and their two kids, Dylan and Cary.

She currently resides with her family in a 22-room Georgian mansion in Irvington, New York.

The actress still holds onto her Welsh roots and to this day owns a large residence in her hometown of Swansea, Wales.

Meanwhile, Britons will look forward to a four-day UK  bank holiday weekend from June 2 to June 5 in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The festivities will include public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service.

Her Majesty has since announced she would like Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, to have the title of Queen Consort when the Prince of Wales becomes King.

Prince Charles described it as a deep honour for both him and his “darling wife”.
