Eamonn Holmes has furiously taken aim at Phillip Schofield and ITV as a whole following his departure from This Morning last year. The TV presenter accused Phillip of being “passive aggressive” and claimed he has a habit of “snubbing people”.
Eamonn also branded ITV “sly”, as he claimed the broadcaster made it look as if he had walked away from This Morning.
The GB News host has now insisted he had “no idea” his time on the show was up.
He explained in a new interview with the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine: “No one explained anything to me.
“I’m all for TV companies being able to choose who works for them, but it would be nice if you were told why you were going.

“They’re sly. They didn’t want to announce that I’d been dropped because it would adversely affect audience figures, so they made it look as if I’d walked away from them rather than the other way round.
“They had a chat with my agent and announced that I was going to GB News when they’d done no more than ask if I’d be interested in joining them.”
The journalist also took aim at Phillip for reportedly cutting off his wife, Ruth Langsford, on This Morning in 2019.
Phillip and Holly cut to Ruth so she could introduce what was coming up on Loose Women that day.
“I have a good Belfast street fighter in me… I would be direct. I don’t go for presenters who think they have a special privilege or aura or influence.”
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for ITV and Phillip Schofield for comment.
Eamonn and Ruth hosted This Morning together for 15 years until they were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in 2021.
There was much speculation surrounding his departure, and the news wasn’t officially confirmed until Eamonn announced he was joining GB News.
ITV said in a statement: “We would like to wish Eamonn all of the very best in his new role.
“As a duo, Eamonn and Ruth have been part of the This Morning presenting team for the last 15 years and we thank Eamonn for all of his hard work and contribution to the show.
“Ruth remains an important part of ITV Daytime both as a continuing member of the This Morning family and as an anchor presenter on Loose Women.”
