Long-term prostitution investigation leads to arrests in Oklahoma City, Edmond


Law enforcement made arrests in connection with a long-term prostitution investigation.With the help of the Edmond Police Department, Oklahoma City police said they made multiple arrests within Oklahoma City and Edmond. The most recent arrests were made on Feb. 10 at a home near Danforth Road and Santa Fe Avenue in Edmond.An undercover officer said he visited the house a week earlier after making an online appointment for a half-hour date with a female escort, according to a police report. He said he met the woman and paid her $200.Police said another man was also inside the home.The officer said in the report that he let the encounter progress to a point where the intentions were clear. He then left.Police said the investigation started last summer.”We’ve worked off of the public’s help, saying, ‘Hey, we’ve got a lot of traffic at this residence,'” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “So, we’ve worked off those tips, and ultimately we’ve been able to execute search warrants on these residences and make arrests out of them.”Police said they arrested not just the alleged prostitutes. They also arrested men who authorities said were living in those homes, carried the cash made in the visits and had control over the activity happening inside.
