TV presenting star Rylan Clark has paid a tribute to his dear friend and former co-star Ruth Langsford as she celebrates her 62nd birthday.
Supermarket Sweep host Rylan, 33, posted a heartfelt tweet to Ruth today, referring to the Loose Women lead as his ‘tele mother’, being that the pair often co-presented This Morning together after he was made main relief presenter in 2014.
The star, who presents his own Radio 2 show, wrote: “Happiest of birthdays to the tele mother @RuthieeL may we have many more years of holding each others hand xxx”, followed by a red heart emoji.

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner also included an image of the two, strolling hand-in-hand, both smiling.
It seems as though the presenting pair have acquired a very special relationship during their time in the spotlight together, with Ruth – who also fronts Channel 5’s How the Other Half Lives alongside husband Eamonn Holmes – having referred to Rylan as her ‘TV son’ on numerous occasions in the past.
When the former X Factor contestant was taken to hospital following a holiday illness last month, mum-figure Ruth comforted him with a sweet message that read: “Speedy recovery son… sending lots of love.”
Prior to this, she reached out to Rylan – who has regularly appeared alongside his real life mother Linda Clarke on Celebrity Gogglebox in the past – to congratulate him on his television achievements.

Sharing a news story about him back in 2019, she wrote: “SO proud of our TV son @rylan. The nicest man who deserves every bit of his success.”
At the time, Rylan was quick to comment on back on Ruth’s post: “Thanks mother.”
Rylan has recently been spotted in the brand new series of Channel 4 comedy competition Taskmaster, as well as on Have I Got News For You, whilst his former This Morning co-presenter Ruth was dropped from the show last year after ITV handed she and Eamonn’s Friday daytime slot was handed to Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
