Lara Lewington, the wife of money expert Martin Lewis, has revealed she used “heavy make-up” to cover her facial scars as she returned to work after suffering a horrific accident earlier this month.
Two weeks on from the fall, Lara, 43, gave fans an update now that her stitches have thankfully healed and revealed that she used layers of make-up to disguise the scars left from the incident as she returned to work.
Sharing a snap from the set where she was shooting a piece to camera in her job as a journalist, Lara said: “Self shot today for the first time in a while. Had totally forgotten how useful it is to just be able to record a quick couple of pieces to camera to finish off a story.”
She then added: “Was pretty pleased with lighting, sound, shot, makeup (as scars hidden), and then took a selfie of it all before dropping clip in to finish my edit. Whilst I don’t want to do all this by myself all the time, it feels good to know I can. “

The star also went on to say that was now “cleaned up and stitched up” after the accident and very “grateful it wasn’t worse”.
Unsurprisingly, the accident has also put Lara off e-scooters, with the telly star vowing to never use one again.
Following the post, one follower reassured the journalist that she looked great while also commenting her professionalism for continuing to get back to work.
They wrote: “What a ‘pro’, and pleased that you’re able to disguise the scars, which are certainly not visible at all.”
The TV presenter suffered the injuries on 4 June, after falling from an electric scooter in an accident that left the blonde star with gashes across her forehead and upper lip which required stitches to close.
Following the accident, Lara shared photos of her bloodied face with her fans, explaining what had happened on social media.
She wrote: ”As an extremely clumsy person, always wobbly on two wheels, the electric scooter ride was never going to be a good idea.”
While her husband Martin is best known for his work as the Money Saving Expert and helping people to navigate the often confusing world of personal finance, Lara also has an impressive CV under her belt, with the presenter and journalist currently co-presenting the BBC technology programme Click.
Prior to this, Lara worked as a weather host for Channel 5, and has appeared on numerous television programmes including ITV’s The Impressionable Jon Culshaw, BBC Two’s Newsnight, ITV’s Britain’s Best Dish and BBC’s Let’s Dance For Sports Relief.
