Police closed part of the A2, close to Dartford, following a crash between two lorries, describing it as a “serious injury accident”. The two lorries collided between the A2018 Old Bexley Lane and the M25 J2. Police officers were called at 4.20am and they closed the London bound carriageway to allow the air ambulance to land. The fire service also rushed to the scene.
Highways England tweeted: “#A2 coastbound currently held between #Dartford and the #M25 – there are plans for a closure to be put in place sending traffic off at the #A2018 -@kentfirerescue & @kentpoliceroads currently in attendance with our traffic officers.”
Kent Police have reported that two lorries were involved in a serious crash which has closed the coastbound carriageway of the A2 near Dareth.
Executive Event Transfers tweeted: “Air Ambulance landed Kent bound just prior to M25 junction.
Highways England have advised drivers to leave the A2 at Darenth Heath and take the first exit onto Shephers Lane. Drivers should then join the A282 northbound or southbound J1B.
Following weeks of the coutry being in lockdown, roads and motorways are beginning to to resume their normal levels of traffic.
