‘Absolutely!’ Overwhelming majority admit huge fear at China’s growing global influence

In January, the Government approved a limited role for Chinese company, Huawei to build some of the UK’s 5G network. The decision has caused controversy within the Commons with Tory MPs such as Tom Tugendhat and Iain Duncan-Smith criticising the Chinese government. With that in mind, Express.co.uk, asked: ‘Are you worried about China’s growing influence across the globe?’

In response, 8,249 out of 8,721 admitted they were worried about China’s growing influence.

A further 410 responded ‘no’, while just 62 were not sure.

One person said: “Absolutely worried about their influence and control.

“We have seen how they operate and frankly I, personally don’t wish any part of them.
