Alex Jones drops ‘baby bombshell’ on The One Show after special announcement

Alex and Michael were on BBC One tonight trying to bring a bit of joy to those viewers who aren’t allowed to see their family yet after new COVID guidance was issued last week.

As the UK heads into its fourteenth week of lockdown, viewers are looking to the likes of The One Show to help them along.

Last week Alex was joined by Love Island’s very own Iain Stirling and tonight she was joined by the one and only Michael Ball.

They were also joined via live video link by Crimewatch presenter Rav Wilding, whose wife gave birth during the lockdown.

In a video documenting the journey, Rav revealed he wasn’t allowed to hear his baby’s heartbeat due to the strict coronavirus rules.

Rav said: “I first discovered I was going to be a father back in September 2019.

“It’s taken many, many years to get to this point and that was even more reason to be very excited, but it’s end up slightly different with the horrific situation we find ourselves in during this pandemic.”

The video diary took the viewers through Rav’s journey, from not being allowed to hear his baby’s heartbeat, to having to leave his wife to go into her appointments all alone.

But, when they went live with Rav and his wife, Jill, Alex dropped a huge baby bombshell.

Jill said how grateful she was, and said that little Poppy was amazing.

Alex interrupted: “You’re making me broody for a third.”

But, the host quickly followed up with: “It’s not going to happen,” shaking her head, “It’s not happening Charlie!”

Alex quickly moved on and said: “Rav, we heard it was horrible for you, of course, when Jill was being induced and those days, and it must have been frustrating not being with her.
