From Thursday until December 2, UK residents may only leave their homes for specific reasons.

You can go to work or school, to exercise outdoors or visit an outdoor public place, or to medical appointments.

Of course, you can go shopping for basic necessities, for example, food and medicine, but this should be done as infrequently as possible.

On top of this, non-essential shops will be closed.

The rules state that all non-essential retail, including, but not limited to clothing and electronics stores, vehicle showrooms, travel agents, betting shops, auction houses, tailors, car washes, tobacco and vape shops will need to close.

Essential retail includes things like supermarkets, garden centres, and other retailers providing essential goods.

The business allowed to stay open must also follow the coronavirus guidelines and make premises covid-secure.

The Government hasn’t published a list of businesses that are deemed essential.

The Range was allowed to remain open during the last lockdown and will stay open this time too.

The company said: “On Government advice we remained open during the last lockdown and will continue to remain open for your convenience.

“To give you time to shop this week we have extended the vast majority of our stores opening hours in England and Scotland until 10pm, please see our website for your local store details.”

The company has also confirmed it is “following all government guidelines to ensure you, our staff and customers have a safe experience whilst shopping with us.”
