Brian May thanks Queen fans from ‘bottom of my heart’ after ‘AVALANCHE of support’ – WATCH

Earlier this week Queen and Adam Lambert guitarist Brian May touched down in Australia ahead of the band’s seven concerts and wildfire charity set in the coming days. On arrival at Brisbane airport, May spotted some young fans with Queen albums, waving a welcome to the rock legend. The 72-year-old decided to get out of his car to meet and greet the kids.

But while he was doing signings and taking pictures with fans, an Australian Channel 7 news camera was filming May.

In an Instagram post, the guitarist said how he let the cameraman film for a few moments to get his story but wanted a private moment of greeting with the kids afterwards.

May wrote: “So, in the nicest possible way, I turned to the cameraman and asked if he’d stop filming, now he’d got his story, and give us some private moments. He refused.”

And despite asking a couple more times the rock legend says the cameraman kept on filming and eventually May “told him firmly to put the camera away, or else this would turn into an ugly incident.”

The cameraman pointed his camera upwards, but then began to film on his iPhone and May said this made him begin to “boil” and “that was the final straw”.

He wrote: “I headed towards him with the intention of temporarily separating him from his phone, and actually put a hand on it, before my security guy gently dissuaded me.”

The 72-year-old wrote on how he felt “bruised” and “disrepected” by the incident, but fans have rallied round the star.

And now May has shared a new video revealing how thankful he is for the support and that he’s feeling much more positive about the first Australian concert.

May said: “Rain? What rain? [laughs] Yeah, just what we need for an outdoor gig, love it. Well, we will be fine somehow.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your incredible support.

“I never expected such an avalanche of support of messages, I’m so grateful to you.

“This morning, it’s gone. I’m back on the horse. I feel good, I feel bright, I’m fighting fit. And we shall rock tonight, okay? God bless you all, thanks again.”
