Britons afraid to move house due to Brexit - spending £55.5 billion on home improvements 1

A nationwide survey, conducted by the UK’s leading trade directory, Checkatrade, discovered that despite 47 percent of Britons being worried about the impact Brexit may have on the housing market, there is a significant upside for businesses involved in property renovation.

With recent research suggesting a property price dip for the first time since 2010 and the number of agreed sales dropping by 5.5 percent across all regions.

It’s unsurprising that the majority (68 percent) of homeowners are staying put.

However, homeowners aren’t resting on their laurels, with 51 percent planning to complete home improvements in the next 12 months and over a third (39 percent) of these doer-uppers forecasting expenditure of between £2,000 and £10,000.
