Buffalo cops who shoved peace activist, 75, charged with second degree assault

Two Buffalo police officers who shoved a protester to ground have been charged with second degree assault.

Longtime peace activist  Martin Gugino, 74 hit his head on the pavement and was left on the ground as blood poured from the wound.

The two officers, Aaron Torgalski and Robert McCabe, were suspended without pay on Friday.

Torgalski and McCabe both pleaded not guilty to a class D felony and were both released on recognizance after brief virtual appearances in Buffalo City Court.
