The Double XP promo is running ahead of the start of Call of Duty Modern Warfare season 2 which is rumoured to bring with it some big additions.

According to the rumour mill the long-speculated free Battle Royale mode could be arriving with Call of Duty Modern Warfare season 2.

Rumours of a Call of Duty Modern Warfare Battle Royale mode first emerged last summer.

At the time YouTuber LongSensation claimed that the free-to-download BR mode for COD would be arriving in early 2020.

And ahead of the launch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare season 2 there has been signs that Battle Royale mode could be coming soon.

An alleged leak has emerged which claimed to show the loading screen for the COD Modern Warfare Battle Royale mode.

It was also claimed that season one of Modern Warfare was recently extended to give devs more time to work on the Battle Royale mode.

While Raven Software, who are believed to be the devs of the BR mode, dropped a teaser on Twitter which got fans excited.

Raven Software tweeted the teaser video for Call of Duty Modern Warfare season 2 alongside an eyebrow raised emoji.

It has led fans to thinking that this could be a sign that the long-rumoured Battle Royale mode could be dropping with season 2.

However, other leaks have claimed that Battle Royale may launch with season 3 or get scrapped entirely if it isn’t finished soon.

In other news, another leak appears to have revealed plenty of details about Call of Duty Modern Warfare season 2.

According to the leak, which allegedly originated on the Call of Duty website, Rust will be making a return in season 2.

One of the big additions in the new Battle Pass will be the arrival of Ghost as an operator, as per the leak.

While it’s also rumoured that the base weapons for the season 2 Battle Pass have been revealed.

These weapons are the Grau 5.56 and the Striker 45.

Ahead of the launch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare season 2 Activision’s president whet fans’ appetite about what’s coming.

The Activision bigwig added that there was a “great pipeline of new content” in the works for the current Call of Duty.

And Kostich added that the COD publisher are in it for the “long haul” with Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
