Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gets its first free update, complete with two new maps and a fan-favourite game mode resurrection.
The update is available for all games across platforms – it will likely launch in the UK (November 8).
It’s the first set of free post-release content for the Infinity Ward reboot that draws in gamers around the world – it’s made $600 million in sales in its opening weekend.

You will run and shoot on two new maps this weekend: Krovnik Farmland and Shoot Home. The latter is going to be exclusive to Ground War, the big-scale game mode for Modern Warfare at the Battlefield. Shoot House looks more like your classic, close-up Call of Duty environment, and it will be available in a variety of game modes.
The new patch also brings back Hardpoint, an intense game mode that challenges teams to hang on to the map for as long as possible as their opponents are trying to take over by all necessary means.Activision
It marks the start of Modern Warfare’s additional content, improvements and fixes. A recent datamine also revealed the potential return of tons of classic maps, including Terminal, Crash, Scrapyard, and, most notably, Rust.
Since its release, the multiplayer modes have been the subject of complaining – luckily, reported updates were on the way for Infinity Ward’s Joe Cecot, Multiplayer’s co-design director on Modern Warfare.

The update’s full patch notes were posted on Reddit, discussing many of the problems players had, including louder footsteps and claymore balance fixes to EOD improvements.
This patch will be the biggest relief for players:’ 725 Shotgun: Increase to ADS and Hip Spread, reduced scope of damage.’

Since the release of the game, the 725 has been extremely controversial: it’s incredibly fun to use, but my goodness is powerful–so much so, it has a sniper rifle’s scope.
On its hilarious scope, some players were capitalizing. When you upgrade the gun with a’ monolithic suppressor,’ expanded barrel, and a four-time sight, you’ve got a gun cracker overwhelmed.
Just look at this f*cking shot. Like, seriously?

According to Forbes, ‘ Modern Warfare will almost definitely be the best-selling game of 2019 ‘ – it was to be anticipated, considering that it is a return to the type of call of duty that appeals to the nostalgia of people.
