Carluccio’s Italian restaurants have 71 one restaurants across the UK. Bosses have claimed coronavirus for this sad news. A statement said there has been a “sustained period of challenging trading conditions, which have been exacerbated by COVID-19.”
What will happen to jobs at Carluccio’s?
Stall can get the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, and so if the company is in admistration could still get 80 percent of their salaries paid.
Geoff Rowley added: “We welcome the latest update on the coronavirus job retention scheme and look forward to working with HMRC to access the support it provides for companies in administration and their employees.
“As this fast-moving situation progresses we will remain in regular communication with all employees and key stakeholders, and will provide a further update in due course.”
Twitter users took to the site to discuss the closures.
One said: “I am genuinely gutted about #Carluccios.”
Another said: “Shame. I quite liked this restaurant in my home town.”
“I used to love #Carluccios. Bread tin, olives, calamari, ravioli, a large chianti, finishing with bitter chocolate ice-cream and an espresso. Dream comfort food,” one more said.
