Celebrity Cruises’ Apex gears up luxury European city cruise – will you book a ticket?

Celebrity Cruises is to welcome the newest addition to its offering, set to take to the seas on its inaugural journey on 1 April. Following its first successful sea trial, the Celebrity Apex will sail into the Mediterranean before taking on a luxurious European city tour.

Celebrity Cruises is encouraging passengers to make the most of this unique opportunity to gain a different perspective on the traditional Euro trip.

The first ship to launch in a decade from the cruise firm, the Celebrity Apex boasts modern opulence and state-of-the-art technology for a seamless ocean experience.

While passengers on the maiden journey will experience the sunshine of the Mediterranean, it’s the European city cruise that the firm is urging passengers to consider.

Though Europe can easily be experienced by plane, train and the road, heading out on a cruise offers an alternative insight into some of the continent’s most loved cities.

The ship will also feature 29 culinary venues and bar, and an immersive horticultural themes entertainment space, Eden.

The ship has just completed its first successful sea trial.

Sailing from February 4 to February 8, in the Bay of Biscary near the shipyard where the ship was brought to life, the excursion was overseen by 50 crew members.

Although the weather was turbulent, the boat pushed on, managing to prove its sturdiness.

Experts say it proved the Apex’s ability to provide optimum comfort even in trying conditions.

“The purpose of a sea trial is to test the functionality of the ship, but this wasn’t just any sea trial – and Celebrity Apex isn’t just any ship,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, Celebrity Cruises.

“In typical Edge Series-fashion, the ship absolutely exceeded our expectations, performing perfectly in line with our above-and-beyond operating standards.”

“It was an absolute honour to stand at the helm of Celebrity Apex for her highly successful first sea trial,” said Celebrity Apex Captain Dimitris Kafetzis. “Celebrity Apex is truly a beautiful and highly advanced vessel.”

Tickets for the European cities cruise can be purchased now from the Celebrity Cruises website, but are subject to availability.
