As for the rest of us, the fact that it’s only available in Chrome Canary suggests it could be some time before we see the much-needed PDF feature make it into the final version of Chrome. Google is always testing and trialling new features – many of which take months to make it into the stable web browser. Some of these features are ditched along the way too.
So, it’s possible the feature, which has been a decade in waiting, never makes it into Chrome. In the meantime, users will have to resort to Preview on the Mac, or Microsoft Edge or Adobe Reader on Windows.
The news comes as Microsoft Edge has tried to improve on one of the best hidden features in Google Chrome – it’s frustratingly additive dinosaur game, which appears whenever you lose internet connection to your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
