Coronavirus update: WHO issues important advice on wearing face masks in public areas

The Department of Health and Social Care announced that “people should wash their hands, or use hand sanitiser, before putting their face covering on and after taking it off”.

It added that it’s “important that people don’t touch their face covering when wearing it, where possible, to avoid hand to mask transmission of the virus”.

And the public are advised to wear face masks when “in enclosed public spaces”.
