Coronation Street’s most beloved former stars are estimated to be making thousands online, thanks to their sizeable followings on social media.
Actresses from the ITV soap, from Michelle Keegan to Helen Flanagan, are said to be making thousands for every sponsored post they share to their personal accounts.
While some stars left the soap for good, pursuing other acting gigs, others have temporarily taken leave from the Corrie cobbles.
ITV has a strict no promotions policy for actors on their social media accounts, meaning only former stars can earn from their social media uploads.
According to Mazuma Mobile, the top-earning stars can earn thousands for a single post, racking up a small fortune.
Michelle Keegan is said to be the highest-earning former cast member, making an estimated £22,945 for every sponsored social media post.
Rising to fame as Tina McIntyre on Corrie, the 32-year-old has gone on to star in shows such as Our Girl and Brassic.
Married to TOWIE star Mark Wright and with a number of clothing collaborations to her name, Michelle has a whopping Instagram follower count of 4.5m.
In second place, Helen Flanagan earns the second-highest amount per social media post – an estimated £4,716.
The 29-year-old left Coronation Street as Rosie Webster back in 2018 to give birth to her second daughter Delilah Rose.
She is yet to confirm her plans to return, and instead is enjoying spending time with her family – daughters Matilda and Delilah Rose, and her fiancé Scott Sinclair.
During the lockdown, Helen has been keeping her Instagram followers entertained with daily outfit posts and workout snaps, resulting in a follower count of 925,000.
In third place, Brooke Vincent is said to earn a tidy £4,691 for every sponsored social media post she shares online.
Playing younger sister to Rosie, Brooke left Corrie as Sophie Webster last year, giving birth to her first baby last October.
The 27-year-old soap star has been enjoying family time with her growing clan ever since, spending the lockdown with her footballer beau Kean Bryan and their young son Mexx.
With 920,000 Instagram followers to her name, the mum-of-one has yet to confirm whether a return to the cobbles could be on the cards.
Following closely behind, Catherine Tyldesley ranks in fourth place, earning an estimated £3,146 per post thanks to her 617,000 followers.
In fifth place, Georgia May Foote is said to earn £2,850 per post, with 559,000 Insta followers to her name.
Lucy Fallon, who recently said goodbye to Coronation Street as Bethany Platt, is thought to earn around £2,600 per post.
Next up, Kym Marsh, who tipped her cap to the soap in dramatic scenes last Christmas, reportedly makes an impressive £2,095 per post.
Finally, Sinead Tinker star Katie McGlynn is estimated to earn £1,524 per sponsored Insta snap – not too shabby!
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm.
