Cruise secrets: Never do this in your cruise cabin or risk dramatic consequence 1

Cruise ship holidays are an excellent opportunity to let your hair down and have fun. Passengers all stay in cabins throughout the trip and these can vary greatly in size and level of luxury depending on how much you’re willing to spend. While the cabins are your personal space for the duration of the holiday, there are still dos and don’ts in place.

Consequently, those who wish to utilise the hairdryer cannot do so in the bathroom.

While this could prove infuriating for some, it’s important not to try and use the hairdryer elsewhere.

“There is one measly outlet in your bathroom, but it’s for shaving only, and it does not accommodate the correct voltage for a hair dryer,” cautioned Cruise Critic.

“Try it out, and you could blow a fuse, shorting out the electricity and making you persona non grata with your onboard neighbours.”

DON’T MISS

This is not the only thing you shouldn’t do in your cruise ship cabin.

Holidaymakers should avoid making too much noise in their room, whether its arguing, playing the TV at high volume or enjoying a spot of romance.

Not only might you not want your personal business transmitted to others but it’s also impolite to disturb others.

Not only could neighbours hear what you’re discussing but it could be considered impolite to disturb others.

“Cruise ship cabin walls are notoriously thin, and sound travels quite well – especially through connecting or hallway doors,” warned Cruise Critic.

“The polite thing to do is keep the volume down. Even if you don’t need privacy, your shipmates don’t really want to listen to your movie selections at 3am.”

Passengers also need to exercise caution when it comes to their cruise cabin balcony.

Cruise ship balconies may well be visible from surrounding balconies, and, if you’re in port, from land.

It’s entirely possible you’ll end up with an audience to anything you might be up to.

For instance, it’s worth being careful with sunbathing on the balcony. Balconies are tiered could result in others being given quite the show.
