Cyberpunk 2077 release date delay: Bad news for fans playing on THIS system

The Cyberpunk 2077 release date has been delayed on Google Stadia.

The news was confirmed in a recent post by Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt.

According to the studio, the game is on course for its September 17 release on PS4, Xbox One and PC, but not Google Stadia.

Instead, the Google Stadia version of Cyberpunk 2077 will debut by the end of the year.

“Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on 17 September 2020 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4,” the post reads.

“By the end of the year the game will also make its debut on Google Stadia. Further information can be found on the game’s official website and on its Facebook and Twitter profiles.”

It’s bad news for fans hoping to play Cyberpubk 2077 on Google Stadia, although at least the delay isn’t too severe.

Fans should find out more about the game and launch plans during an upcoming Night City Wire event, which has been postponed until the end of the month.

Originally scheduled for June 11, the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay stream will now take place on June 25.

“We decided to move Night City Wire to Jun 25th,” reads a CD Projekt tweet.

“We still look forward to sharing new information about CP’77, but more important discussions are happening right now and we want them to be heard. We wholeheartedly stand against racism, intolerance and violence. Black Lives Matter.”

Fans will also be hoping for a look at the Xbox Series X Cyberpunk 2077 upgrade, which will be free if you already own the game on Xbox One.

Cyberpunk 2077 is described as an open-world, action-adventure game set in the futuristic location of Night City.

“You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality,” reads the official description.

“You can customise your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.”

As the description suggests, different players will have a vastly altered experience based on their approach to gameplay.
