Debenhams to close seven stores after coronavirus lockdown - FULL LIST 1

Debenhams has announced it will close seven branches after the coronavirus crisis has put pressure on the retailer. This is the full list of affected stores.

Earlier this month, the retailer confirmed it had gone into administration for the second time this year.

The company filed a notice of intent to appoint administrations from FRF Advisory.

Debenhams has more than 140 stores in the UK which are on the high street, in shopping malls and in retail parks.

The company also has around 22,000 employees that are sure to be affected by the administration.

Debenhams chief executive Stefaan Vansteenkiste said: “In these unprecedented circumstances the appointment of the administrators will protect our business, our employees, and other important stakeholders, so that we are in a position to resume trading from our stores when Government restrictions are lifted.

“We anticipate that our highly supportive owners and lenders will make additional funding available to fund the administration period.”

The retail chain also confirmed no stores in Ireland will reopen after the lockdown.
