Unlike in previous years, Bungie is doing something different with the release of Destiny 2 Season 11 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
While gamers have been given a lot of information before the start of the new content rotation, the Destiny 2 Season 11 release date is somewhat of a mystery.
We know when it will be launching, and we also know about the new Destiny 2 update that is being released this week as well.
But there is a huge blank covering what will be included with the Destiny 2 Season 11 launch, and we also have no official confirmation covering what it is called.
When the Almighty blew up this weekend, it appeared that some players were informed that it would be called Destiny 2: Season of the Arrivals.
This makes sense, based on what has been happening during Season 10, but others also saw messages regarding the Season of Visitors, which could also be the official name.
A recent leak suggests that it will be called Destiny 2 Season of the Arrivals, but gamers will have to wait for the official reveal later this week.
For now, we know that Bungie will be hosting a livestream covering the future of Destiny 2, which is expected to include Season 11 news, on June 9, 2020.
The official Bungie reveal will be held at 9am PT, and is expected to include all the news fans will need for the new season, as well as whatever DLC plans the development team has planned.
This will be available to watch via the official Destiny 2 channels on Twitch, Mixer and YouTube at around 5pm GMT, if you live in the UK.
Bungie has also confirmed that the new Destiny 2 update will be released on the same day, heralding the start of Season 11.
According to Bungie, Destiny 2 Update 2.9.0 has a set release time of 10am PT, or 6pm GMT if you live in the UK.
There will be server maintenance starting at the same time as the live stream, so there is a chance of some disruption to when everyone will be able to update their game.
A message from Bungie adds: “Within Destiny 2, you may have been watching the approach of the Almighty.
“You’re itching to see the conclusion of the Season, but you’re also starting to hear whispers of what’s coming next.
“Join us on Tuesday, June 9 at 9 AM PDT to learn about the future of Destiny 2.”
Adding: “When Season of the Worthy ends at the weekly reset on June 9, 2020, there will be a number of items, activities, and Triumphs that will no longer be available to players… On Tuesday, June 9, Update 2.9.0 will be available to players.”
Another area being changed with the next update will be the Eververse Store, with Bungie tweaking how some of the reward structures work.
To “better balance gameplay rewards with Eververse content,” the next season will contain a few introductory changes, with more shifts coming in Season 12.
