A spokesman for the Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police have been called to Mill Street in Bideford after receiving a report that a person within a residential address was believed to be in possession of a suspected firearm.
“officers have seized what is believed to be a BB gun.”
There have been no reports of injuries at this time.

The force has been concerned over the potential for large amount of tourists descending on the area amid the pandemic.
The force said: “Visitors and local residents alike are reminded to take their rubbish home with them and respect social distancing rules in an effort to protect Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly for everyone.
“During the summer months, some of the area’s beauty spots and beaches become extremely busy. Local residents and tourists are encouraged to act responsibly and respectfully when out and about this summer to help protect the county and its communities.”
