Disney+ will launch in the UK on March 24 and its biggest exclusive is without a doubt The Mandalorian – a Star Wars TV show that follows the story of a lone bounty hunter. Events take place after the fall of the Empire but before the rise of the First Order – that’s between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens for anyone that’s not up to date with Star Wars lure.
It won’t surprise you to learn The Mandalorian has proven to be a huge success in the US and various other territories Disney+ is currently available. After all, the media conglomerate poured an enormous $ 100 million into the first season alone – that’s comprised of eight episodes.
Disney has already confirmed UK fans will be able to start streaming the Star Wars TV show the moment the service debuts on March 24. That said, it doesn’t seem like every episode will be available at once – Disney has said it “will start to roll out from March 24th”, suggesting you may have to wait a little while to see how things conclude.
But if you’ve been seething with jealously while Star Wars fans in the US have been singing the praises of The Mandalorian and really can’t wait to see what all the fuss is about, you’re in luck.
Of course, taking out an Unlimited subscription just to see the first episode of The Mandalorian early isn’t particularly wise. Instead, it’s probably just worth waiting until March 24 for Disney+’s UK debut.
Disney+ will launch in the UK on March 24 and costs £5.99 per month or £59.99 for the year. The streaming service will also debut in Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland on the same day, too.
A seven-day free trial period will be offered to everyone signing up from launch, meaning you’ll have plenty of time to see whether Disney+ is for you or not.
