In response to a fan who called out London Mayer Sadiq Khan for his “pathetic response” on the tragedies, Eamonn suggested a simple measure to save lives.
“All the deaths are tragic, absolutely heartbreaking,” he wrote.
“But either protect Bus Drivers, Posties, Cabbies, Shop workers, Refuse collectors etc, etc…. or don’t send them out at all. Trade Unions need to be heeded on this surely.”
As the battle over PPE availability for key workers continues, the Mayer said on Wednesday last week that he is working with Transport For London, bus operators and unions across the UK to protect workers and passengers through new measures.
The UK has recorded 737 new coronavirus-related hospital deaths, taking the total number to 10,612 as reported by BBC.
