Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the Eat Out to Help Out scheme in July, with participating restaurants able to sign up to offer discounted food and drink for the month of August. The scheme will come to an end on Monday, August 31, however this will not be the end of discounted meals for all restaurants.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak said: “This scheme has reminded us how much we love to dine out, and in doing so, how this is helping to protect the jobs of nearly 2 million people who work in hospitality.
“I am urging everyone, where they can, to continue to safely enjoy a meal while the scheme remains open.”
The Government-backed discount gave anyone dining in on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in August 50 percent off their food and non-alcoholic drinks up to £10 per person.
With the scheme soon ending, some restaurants have opted to extend the offer into September and October.
