Elvis Presley’s Jailhouse Rock movie script first draft REVEALED by Graceland archives

Last month, Elvis Presley’s Graceland re-opened at a limited capacity. During the temporary closure Director of Archives Angie Marchese had been entertaining fans with insider videos, examining some of The King’s personal possessions. And now she’s back with a look at a first draft of the Jailhouse Rock movie.

The Instagram post read: “Graceland is open again for tours, and we’re back Inside The Archive” to give you an exclusive look inside the top-secret facility where Elvis’ personal items are stored.

“June marks the anniversary of when #Elvis was on set filming Jailhouse Rock in 1957.

“So we thought it’d be fun to take a closer look at a very special item related to the movie!”

In the new video, the Graceland archivist said: “Probably one of the coolest things about my job, is that I get to share with you and everyone who comes to Graceland, all of my favourite things that are in the archives.”

Angie added: “Now Elvis didn’t write in this script.

“But one of my favourite scenes, and probably yours too, is that famous prison yard scene.

“And all of this was filmed back in June of ’57, so 63 years ago.”
