Facebook gets a vital new look and some lucky iPhone owners can try it today

For those with an iOS or Android device that uses an OLED display, enabling the new appearance should result in a significant battery life boost. This is due to the way that OLED panels works, which doesn’t require any power to display jet-black shades of black.

That means owners of devices such as the iPhone 11 Pro, Galaxy S20, Xperia 5 II and latest iPhone 12 should see a significant battery boost.

As we mentioned earlier, Dark Mode is its public test phase which means not everyone can try it just yet.

However, it is worth checking the settings on your iPhone to see if you are one of the lucky ones who have been given early access.
