Fern Britton reveals her ‘reasons to be cheerful’ after split from husband Phil Vickery 1

Fern Britton, 62, took to Twitter this morning to reveal her “reasons to be cheerful” following her recent split from husband Phil Vickery.

The former This Morning presenter and the 58-year-old TV chef announced their separation three weeks ago after 20 years of marriage.

Clearly in a positive mood, the television star shared several pictures on the social media site which made her feel cheerful.

She captioned the snaps: “Reasons to be cheerful” followed by a grinning face emoji.

Gardening enthusiast Fern showed her 68,000 followers what she had been working on at home.

Alongside pictures of flowers springing to life in her garden, she wrote: “Sweet peas and geranium cuttings doing well.

“Honeysuckle outside kitchen window greening nicely.

“Simply Daffs doing their job of joy. Here’s to a day of kindness x.”

At the end of January Fern and Phil announced their plans to separate on Twitter.

Fern’s post read: “After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways. We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children . We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time. Thankyou for your continued kindness and support.”

The couple share an 18-year-old daughter called Winnie.

Fern also has twin sons Jack and Harry, 25, and daughter Grace, 20, from her first marriage to Clive Jones.
