Fern Britton spoke about her split from husband Phil Vickery, after almost 20 years of marriage, in an interview yesterday.
The 62-year-old TV presenter and author said she and the TV chef were the “best of friends” and she missed their friendship.
Speaking to The Mail On Sunday’s Weekend magazine, the mother-of-four opened up about her separation, five months after announcing their split on social media.
She told the publication: “I knew it was important not to live unhappily.”
The former This Morning star went on to say: “We were the best of friends. And I miss that friendship.
“But I’m sure, once all the tricky bits have been sorted out, we can be friends again.”

Not long after the interview was published, the popular television cook took to social media to share a post with his 22,600 followers.
He spoke about his “chance of a lifetime” alongside a video which was taken during a work trip to a tropical island.
The short clip showed a dolphin swimming in the sea next to a boat.
Alongside the footage, the television chef worte: “Flashback filming in Turks and Caicos, Chance of a lifetime.”

Instagram users and fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One user said: “Wow that looks amazing place,”(sic) while another simply wrote: “Amazing!”
This time last year, Phil presented a cooking segment for This Morning – where he is a regular guest – from the beautiful island.
He stayed in the Providenciales district, which is known locally as Provo, and made a fish dish by the ocean for the show.
Following the trip, he told his Twitter followers: “Had a fabulous time filming in Turks and Caicos Islands, and on the best beach in the world.”

Back in January, Fern and Phil, 58, announced their separation in a joint statement posted on both of their Twitter accounts.
The statement read: “After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways.
“We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children.”
The former couple are parents to Winnie, 18, and Fern also has children from her first marriage to Clive Jones – twins Jack and Harry, 26, and Grace, 23.
