UPDATE: The latest news from EA is that FIFA 20 servers are improving but that work continues to bring everything back online.
EA Sports were forced to temporarily disable FUT and VOLTA FOOTBALL match creation as they investigated the connectivity issues impacting EA titles.
Since then, reports have been dropping of problems, with the EA support team posting: “We’re still working on the issues with our games and services. We don’t have any updates right now, but we’ll let you know when we have more info.”
ORIGINAL: FIFA 20 servers are down today and EA has provided the latest server status update.
According to gamers trying to connect to its online services, Origin on PC has been hit by a major server outage, among other platforms.
This means that not only is FIFA 20 affected, but other leading games like Apex Legends and Battlefield 5.
A message from the EA support page confirms the current service problems, revealing that the issues are being investigated.
“We’re currently looking into the issues affecting our services. If you can’t play online, access Origin or EA Help, we’re on it,” a message from EA Help adds.
It’s unclear what has caused today’s outage, or how long they might last across platforms. From what has been shared online, today’s FIFA 20 outage is largely affecting gamers using European based servers.
One user writes: “At least I got on the companion app and managed to bag 13 Moutinho for 700 B4 being locked out.”
Another adds: “It’s a regular problem lately… when you finally get back on the server you won’t be able to play any matches for ages.”
It should be noted that many online services are under extra strain right now and a surge in player numbers can help destabilise multiplayer servers.
