When will FIFA 21 be revealed? Is it coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X?
FIFA 21 is going to be one of the biggest games of the year, and fans shouldn’t have much longer till EA lifts the lid on the hotly anticipated footie title. FIFA games are big business, with these titles regularly seen at the top of the charts and always on the list of the year’s best selling games. Anticipation is always high when a new FIFA game is about to be released, and this year that excitement is only ramped up further by the advent of the next-gen.
And gamers look like they’re only days away from getting the first ever glimpse of FIFA 21, and seeing whether it will be a big step up from FIFA 20.
This week EA are set to hold their delayed EA Play event, which typically happens around the time of E3.
EA Play events are where the gaming giant reveals the latest entries in all of their big franchises.
So we’re likely to get the first look at FIFA 21 as well a further look at Madden 21 which was unveiled at the recent Xbox Series X games event.
If you want to tune into EA Play then we’re only days away from the big event kicking off.
EA Play is scheduled to take place at 4pm pacific time on Thursday June 18, so for those in the UK that’s midnight on Friday June 19.
Describing what fans should expect on the EA Play website, the dev and publisher said: “EA Play Live 2020 is about connecting players around the world and bringing them closer to the game franchises they love.
“During this year’s digital event, we’ll showcase our games through a live broadcast, community content, and more. Tune in on Thursday, June 18th at 4.00pm PT on EA.com.
“Stay tuned for more information here – and follow us on Twitter and Facebook.”
For fans in the UK FIFA 21 will be one of the big announcements, but will the next FIFA game be appearing on next-gen formats?
FIFA 21 should be unveiled at EA Play later this week
FIFA games typically launch in September annually, which is earlier than when the PS5 and Xbox Series X are expected to release.
All we know at the moment is the next-gen consoles will be arriving during ‘holiday 2020’, with an October or November launch seeming likely.
So, FIFA 21 – if it sticks to its typical release schedule – is likely to release before the arrival of the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
But that doesn’t mean a version won’t be released for the next-gen.
Since Madden 21 has already been confirmed as coming to the next-gen during the recent Xbox Series X event it’s likely that’s the case with FIFA 21 also.
If you want to see what kind of visuals a next-gen FIFA could boast, then the Madden 21 Xbox Series X reveal could give a good indication.
