Epic Games remain tight-lipped about its next big reveal but gamers believe that the Fortnite Doomsday event could be it. The past few weeks have seen more evidence that Epic Games are working on something for the end of Season 2, which would fit in with what has happened in the past. And while we know when Season 3 will be kicking off, we don’t know what the development team has planned for the end of Season 2.
But from what has been found so far, it looks like Fortnite Season 3 could start with a bang and Doomsday could be the next big event that follows the Premiere of the Party Royale.
WHAT IS THE FORTNITE DOOMSDAY EVENT?
The Fortnite Doomsday event is tied to a device found by gamers during Season 2 which appears to be growing towards a final form.
Unlike other events, the Doomsday Superweapon can be found in Midas’ room in the hideout and not on the island.
But while the location of the device has proven different, it being built slowly over weeks follows a familiar pattern fans have seen with other big seasonal events, including famous ones like the Meteor.
It helps to create hype for the end of the Season, which is just a few weeks away on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mobile and Nintendo Switch.
Epic Games never tells fans what they have planned but they do like to drop hints, such as adding new parts to a new Doomsday device.
Fortnite Season end events in the past have provided some kind of spectacle to watch, followed by an eye-catching map change.
And the same could happen with the end of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 in the coming weeks.
The current plotline could include Midas building a device that will flood the entire map and change key locations.
As mentioned above, none of this has been confirmed by Epic Games, but clues have been found by dataminers.
The latest hints found include the Doomsday device acquiring new cables and wiring, which appear to show it eventually powering up.
