Fortnite update 12.21 is launching on March 24 and that means new downtime commencing on servers. The good news is that we know what is being worked on and how long Fortnite downtime will last this week. The downside is that Epic Games has stopped sharing patch notes, meaning we won’t know about everything that has changed following the release of the new update.

WHEN ARE FORTNITE SERVERS GOING DOWN?

According to Epic Games, Fortnite servers will be going down on March 24, on all major platforms.

This means that Battle Royale mode will not be accessible for however long Epic Games keeps servers offline.

The Fortnite dev team has stated on the official server status site that the March 24 downtime could last up to three hours.

However, it’s more likely that everything will be back online much sooner for PS4, Xbox, Switch, Mobile and PC gamers.

Timing-wise, Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite server downtime and maintenance will begin at 6am, GMT.

For gamers in the United States, this will mean servers going offline at 2am ET, which could mean more disruption than usual.

A message from Epic Games adds: “Hey, all! v12.21 is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24. Downtime begins at 2 AM ET (0600 UTC).”

When it comes to changes, fans are expecting plenty of new bugfixes following the release of the new Choppa vehicle.

This was added to the game last week and allows Fortnite fans to get to the Choppa with up to four squadmates.

“Get in and fly out. Grab up to 4 other squadmates and take on the enemy teams with this new vehicle.”

While not confirmed via the official patch notes, Epic also destroyed the oil rig in the first of this season’s major map changes.
