During Daenerys Targaryen’ (played by Emila Clarke) siege on King’s Landing, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) lost her life as she refused to leave home even though the city was burning. Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Cersei shared both parents and children together and the couple faced many challenges over the seasons’ as Jaime continued to battle with his conscience. However, the star-crossed lovers were reunited and tragically lost their lives together when the city came crumbling down.
Game of Thrones fans will remember Cersei as a ruler who infamously showed no mercy on those who wronged her.
Jaime also started the HBO series this way but fans began to see a different side to him when he was held hostage by Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie).
Although their loyalties were with two opposing houses, Jaime and Brienne had an understanding which blossomed into a friendship.
However, ultimately Jaime only had eyes for one woman in his heart and returned to Cersei when he heard of the impending attack on King’s Landing.

During the lovers final scene, the script notes the room was overrun with flames in addition to the crumbling ceiling.
Meanwhile in the scene where Tyrion discovers his siblings, the script confirms there’s no way the pair could have survived.
“All of the skulls have been blackened and scorched by the extreme heat of the fires that raged for hours,” the script notes.
This detail silences any doubt over whether the pair were simply unlucky to have died in the way that they did.
