Locals have reported up to 40 police vehicles have rushed down Cumbernauld Road to the park, which sits between Edinburgh Road and Carntyne Road. Several people took to social media to ask about the huge number of police vehicles rushing towards the park. One person said: “Right so sources say that there are actually more like 40+ police cars/riot vans and they’re all up Carntyne and Edinburgh Road.”
A Twitter user wrote: “Hearing the young teams were fighting in Hogarth Park and somebody had a sword.
“Police everywhere so assume they’ve not got everyone.”
Another person said: “Half of Police Scotland at Hogarth Park in the east end of Glasgow.
“Absolutely mental scenes.”

Glasgow emergency: Police were called just after 7pm to a large scale youth disturbance
One eyewitness told Glasgow Live that around 30 police cars and vans had rushed towards the park, and that officers were “searching for something in the grass”.
They said: “Something happening at Hogarth Park in Carntyne. Not kidding – about 30 police cars and vans.
“Police presence has died down on the Edinburgh road side but they’re searching for something in the grass.”
Police Scotland confirmed there had been a “large scale youth disturbance” and that several “arrests” have been made.

There have not been any reported injuries.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers called around 7.10 pm on Thursday, 21 May, 2020, to a large scale youth disturbance in Carntyne Road/Hogarth Park, Haghill, Glasgow.
“Several arrests have been made – no details on what for or ages at this time – and enquiries are continuing.”
