Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan slammed the lack of social distancing at yesterday’s Black Lives Matter protest in London.

Susanna Reid’s co-star instead he whole heartedly supports the cause for an end to everyday racism around the world but saw red when Labour MP boasted of breaking lockdown rules on social media.

Speaking on the hit ITV show, Piers said: “They are ignoring the social distancing rules.

“I support the cause but I certainly can’t support the tweet I saw from the Labour MP Barry Gardiner.

“For a Member of Parliament to boast about breaking social distancing rules… no wonder other people won’t follow it.”

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday evening, Piers hit out at Gardiner, branding him reckless and irresponsible in the process.

The MP tweeted: “Been social distancing since March.

“Today I broke it to join the #BlackLivesMattter demo outside Parliament and take a knee with thousands of brave young people calling for Justice.”

Agreeing that people need to remember social distancing is still in place, Dr Hilary Jones added: “When your heart rules your head, that means the virus spreads.”

Piers continued: “We had 359 deaths still yesterday.

“We had more deaths yesterday than the other 27 EU country combined. Think about that.”

Explaining why she thought it was ok to breach the rules for the greater good during a video chat live on GMB, YouTuber ZeZe Mills said: “We had to make that decision to stand in solidarity to take action.

“Some people thought risking their lives was worth it a couple of weeks ago to go to the beach.

“We can’t control when another black man is killed… we wanted to stand in solidarity now.”

The online star added: “I do agree a lot of white people do not realise when they are being racist.

“A lot of white people only understand overt racism but they do not understand the subtle racism we experience every day. That is what needs to be address.”
