Portugal has also been in the spotlight due to an increasing number of confirmed cases across the country.
According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), at the time of writing, there has been 38.3 COVID cases detected per 100,000 of the population over the last 14 days.
There were 22.3 coronavirus cases per 100,000 people in Portugal in the seven days to August 31, up from 14.5 a week earlier, according to figures calculated by the PA news agency based on ECDC data.
A seven-day rate of 20 is the threshold above which the UK Government considers triggering quarantine conditions.
