This week’s Hearthstone update was a big one and took much longer to reach iOS players. According to reports being shared today, the latest patch is just now arriving on affected platforms. Meanwhile, most Android users received the latest Hearthstone update on January 22. A message from the technical support page states that the certification process for mobile apps is different, due to it being hosted on Apple and Google storefronts.
“Galakrond Awakening has been released today (JAN 22), but due to the delays on mobile device patches, it may take a while before it appears,” the message reads.
“Here’s another post where we explain a bit on why mobile devices patches tend to have a delayed release.
“Patches for mobile devices IOS and Android devices can take a bit longer to push since it does have to go through a different process for the respective app store.
“We do monitor these updates, so hopefully the patch 16.2 will be pushed to iOS devices soon.”
So it seems the latest patch had to jump through a few added hoops on iOS before it could reach all players.
As mentioned above, this week’s Hearthstone update makes big changes to Battlegrounds Mode, as well as adding the first chapter of the new story content
Two new heroes have been added to the game, including Tirion Fordring and Millhouse Manastorm.
Fordring’s hero ability is Honorable Warband, which costs one and gives minions with no minion type +1/+1. It’s a nice little change to the game, and could make for some more interesting set ups.
Meanwhile, Manastorm’s hero ability is Passive, making Minions cost 2 Gold and refreshes cost 2 Gold. Oh, and you will also start with 2 Gold.
Another big piece of news is that Voidwalker is no longer part of the Battlegrounds set up, which is bound to affect some playstyles.
Galakrond’s Awakening Chapter 1 should also now be available to download on PC, Android and iOS.
