The technical drawback has affected the journeys of not less than 50 passengers at Terminal 5 at London’s Heathrow, in response to experiences. One livid passenger wrote on Twitter: “@HeathrowAirport what a shambles! “Safety system failure so nobody can move via even within the First Class safety space.
“Now there are at least 50 of us with only one scanner working!!”
Heathrow Airport apologised for the incident and confirmed it’s experiencing a “system failure”.
It wrote on Twitter: “We are very sorry about the current problem with the system failure and are working quickly to resolve this issue. Thank you.”
A second passenger mentioned: “All security points closed @HeathrowT. Joke of an airport. It’s embarrassing.”
Heathrow Airport responded and mentioned: “We are aware and working on this issue. We are very sorry about this and the inconvenience being caused. Thank you.”
A 3rd passenger mentioned: “‘Systems down’ at #HeathrowT5 that means no one can get into or via airport safety – whoever mentioned tech & automation was a good suggestion?!
“Thankfully we’re assured will be fixed in a few mins & we’ll all be on our way!”
Categorical.co.uk has contacted Heathrow Airport for additional remark.
It is a growing information story, extra to observe.
