A heavily-pregnant black woman was found hanged from a tree in a field with a stab wound to her chest.
Tshegofatso Pule, 28, was reported missing on 4th June and found dead in a field near Johannesburg in the South African province of Gauteng.
Pule was eight months pregnant, and according to a friend, was last seen at her boyfriend’s apartment complex.
A passerby discovered the expectant mother on 8th June at 11am and alerted police, who raced to the scene.
Gauteng police then found Pule hanging from a tree, with a bloody stab wound to her chest.
Police spokeswoman, Kay Makhubela, said Tshegofatso, nicknamed Tshego, had been confirmed to be pregnant.
She said: “The deceased is also confirmed to be pregnant.
“Suspects are unknown at the moment, but the investigation is underway.”
Heartbroken family and friends paid tribute to Tshego, who was known to be a warm and loving person.
Netizen, Dennyboy Madiro, broke the news to friends on Facebook, stating: “8 months pregnant Tshegofatso Pule was found stabbed and hanging from a tree this morning.”
While a second, Mpho Mogotsi, said: “You don’t deserve to die like this.
“Worse whoever murdered you killed 2souls.”
Mogotsi added: “Rest well Tshegofatso Pule.”
