TV presenter Helen Skelton, 37, who presents BBC’s Countryfile and This Week On The Farm, has admitted her “life has been cr***y” just days after documenting her home renovation project during lockdown with her family of four. The mum-of-two moved into her Yorkshire abode back in January.

Helen, who has been keeping busy while being locked down at home since March, shared a surprising update about her life with her Instagram fans today.

Alongside the snaps which featured herself with her sister-in-laws, the radio host wrote to her 200,000 followers: “Two very different catch ups this week with two very special sister in laws…

“This lockdown/localised life has been cr***y in many ways but it’s been a perfect reminder of the special people and places we have close to home.”

Despite Helen feeling a bit under the weather, fans were quick to comment to tell her how great she looked.

“Two beauties,” one fan remarked, referring to the first picture of Helen and her sister-in-law enjoying a drink.

Another person recognised where the host was enjoying her family time and penned: “Mio Modo? I was in there with my son on Thurs x.”

A third added: “Lovely smiley photo,” while someone shared: “Beautiful girls.”

It comes just days after Helen shared a picture of her new bathroom on her Instagram story to express her delight over finally having running water again.

The snap showed her sons Ernie, five, and Louis, three, inspecting the tin bath which sat on their tiled bathroom floor.

The BBC presenter divulged: “When you have been talking about waste pipes/boxing in and tap valves for weeks… seeing actual running water is blinking marvellous…

“Water that comes out of an actual tap and goes down a drain… #perspective.”

Before she decided to document their progress online, she previously updated her fans about their on-going project at home.

Alongside a picture of the bath tub, Helen discussed: “7 months in and we are almost there…… massive thanks @meliorakbb @simon.benn79 @caddickconstruction @stuccoandstucco @ca_pietra_ @bcdesignsuk @romanltd for caring about my home as much as I do!

“Unlike one quarter of this family I haven’t dug trenches and knocked down walls but I have been to as many independent businesses and British brands as will have me in recent weeks and found some pretty talented peeps doing pretty impressive things!”

One fan commented: “Such a gorgeous bath!”

Another person replied: “You will get there Helen, and it will be fantastic for you all… all your patience and endeavour will be worth all the effort… it will be lovely… best wishes and happiness to you… will be listening to ya in morn on 5live…”

In June, Helen spoke out about how she hadn’t seen much of her spouse during lockdown due to all of the work he has been doing to the house.

Before opening up about the situation, she also jokingly admitted she wasn’t sure whether it was a “blessing or a curse”.

Helen told her followers: “Old homes that were never meant to be homes certainly throw a few curve balls.

“I’m loving it to be honest, but then who wouldn’t my job is to look on Pinterest.”
