Microsoft has revealed a look at the Xbox Series X dashboard.
This new dashboard launches with the Xbox Series X in November, and also applies to Xbox One as well as all Xbox mobile apps and Xbox Game Pass on PC.
In a blog post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft stressed the increased speed of the new dashboard.
“Xbox Series X will set a new bar for speed when it launches this November, and we’re taking the same approach to accelerate experiences across Xbox,” Chris Novak, head of Xbox research and design, said.
“The Xbox Velocity Architecture and Quick Resume technology make games quicker to launch, and we knew we also wanted to make them faster to discover, talk about, and download – even while you’re away from your console. Your phone, PC, or console – all working together. Any time you have available to spend gaming is valuable, and we wanted to ensure it was time spent playing, not waiting. The Home screen will load more than 50 per cent faster when you boot your Xbox, and is almost 30 per cent faster to load when you’re returning from a game. Furthermore, these improvements use 40 per cent less memory than what was previously required.”
Elsewhere, the Microsoft Store app launch time has been cut to about two seconds. There’s a new Xbox mobile app in the works. When you share an update or game clip from your console, it will also automatically be sent to your Xbox mobile app, so you can share it on the social networks of your choice, Microsoft said.
