Holidays: Expert unveils new country on quarantine ‘watchlist’ – but good news for Greece

Denmark’s rate is currently 28.7, placing in in the ‘red’ zone alongside other countries on the UK’s quarantine list such as Spain and France.

“#Denmark moves higher in red zone; expect to be quarantined this week,” Charles posted on Twitter yesterday.

It’s also not good news for Portugal and Switzerland.

Neither are set to be added back on to the ‘safe’ list any time soon.

DON’T MISS

“#Portugal and #Switzerland witness highest caseload since April,” the expert tweeted.

The former has a rate of 32.7 and the latter 31.7.

Charles was more optimistic for popular holiday destinations Italy, Greece and Turkey.

He said the three were “all still stable.”

Travel restrictions all depend on where you live and a number of Greek islands are universally on the quarantine list after the government introduced a more nuanced approach to travel corridors this week.

The FCDO explains: “If you are returning to England or Northern Ireland from Lesvos, Tinos, Serifos, Mykonos, Crete, Santorini and Zakynthos on or after 9 September, you will need to self-isolate on your return.

“If you are returning to Wales from the islands of Mykonos, Zakynthos (Zante), Lesvos, Paros and Antiparos, Crete, Santorini, Serifos and Tinos you are required to self isolate for 14 days.

“If you are returning to Scotland from Greece, you will need to self-isolate on your return.”
