Holly Willoughby: This Morning star finally breaks silence on Phillip Schofield 'feud'

This Morning star Holly Willoughby, 38, has been presenting the ITV teatime show with Phillip Schofield, 57, for the past decade. The mum-of-three has now opened up on the rumours and rubbished claims of an alleged “feud” as she insisted their friendship is “tighter than ever”.

In a new interview, Holly spoke candidly about the veteran TV presenter and admitted their close bond is “impossible to fake” as she voiced her support for Phillip.

Speaking to Closer magazine, she explained: “It’s funny because we knew this would probably come up. Actually, it’s been quite an easy one for us, because there’s nothing to defend.

“We ring each other and talk to each other all the time anyway, about this and other things.”

Holly then spoke out about accusations that she fakes her giggles while hosting This Morning with Phillip.

She continued: “We know what we’re like. It would be impossible for us to fake the giggles.

“I’m on the telly for two and a half hours — let me tell you, I’m not that good an actress. If I was, I’d be doing something else.”

Her comments come after it was revealed the This Morning host’s relationship had become “strained” after 10 years of working together, which has been denied by both parties.

Phillip was also accused of creating a “toxic atmosphere” on set, with alleged ongoing spats with stand-in hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, which has explicitly been denied by ITV representatives.

“It’s a shame… we are so open on the show, we are so open online and we go on holiday together.”

Phillip continued: “Holly is the sister I never had, we think at the same speed. It’s so organic… it’s a shame.

“Everyone who knows us, I mean, everyone at This Morning was like, ‘What the hell?’ The atmosphere in our studio is so wonderful, there’s such a lovely team. Everyone is lovely.”

At the time, an ITV spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “It’s deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip.
